My Favorite IPad apps for school

Today I am sharing some of my favorite iPad apps for school.  As a college student I have found that carrying around my iPad is much easier than my laptop, and most of my apps now can sync between the two devices (very convenient).  Here are a few of the apps I use:

In this folder I have Blackboard, which I don't really use because it is formatted in a weird way and constantly logs me out so if I need blackboard I typically log on through Safari.  The second app which I love is Evernote which is what I use to store  my notes from class.  My favorite part is it automatically synchs with your laptop Evernote account as long as you are connected to Wifi.  Then I have Adobe Reader, which is used mainly for downloading and marking up PDF documents.  Then iTunes U, which I don't use at all, but it's there.  Then I have Flipboard which is a great app for getting daily news.

Next I have a folder for my google drive apps Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. These are great for working on shared drive documents on the go. Again all of these synch with your google drive account so everything you create will be accessible on your laptop or another computer.

Last I have a folder for Office Apps, Microsoft Word, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, OneNote, and a Scanner app.  These are all similar as above, great for doing documents on the go (though these apps do not synch with other devices).  The scanner app is really great for scanning papers that Professors hand out or other important notes from classes. They offer scanner apps for iPhones as well and I highly reccomend it!

What are your favorite iPad apps?  I'm always looking for new ones to try!

Winter 2015 Most Used Items

Ah I can't believe it's almost Sping (*knock on wood*).  I feel it is fitting to make a post talking about some of my staples this winter, (seriously these items are the real MVPs).

Hands down, most worn to keep me warm.  I have mine in a nice cream color, and whle I know J.Crew has many cuter styles, I'm a college student who needs to brave the cold 5-10 minute walks from class to class to dorm.  This beyond does the trick.

Yes. I know everyone has these and raves, but I'd probably have slipped on ice and made a total fool out of myself without them.  The ones i've linked are from LL Bean and they are backordered for daysss, so check out Sperry for similar options if you don't want to wait as long (plus Sperry's are cheaper and they have a cute pink color).

These are actually my most worm winter items.  They are so comfy, and perfect to wear to either class, the library, or even if your chilling out in your dorm (which I've been doing plenty of).

I literally wear these everyday I leave my dorm.  They are thick enough to keep me warm, while still looking cute and stylish.

5. My skin saviors

Korres pomegranate face cream (I love the pomegranate one, but they have lots of other products), L'Occitane Verbena hand cream and Eos lip balm.  Keep my skin hydrated during these very dry months

Spring Essentials

Spring is **knock on wood** almost here!!  With thad said here are a few of my personal Spring Essentials.  Most of these are either transition pieces (jean jackets, cardigans, pull-overs) which are great for when the day starts cold but warms up by the afternoon, or warm weather staples (cotton tees, button-ups, skirts, shorts, jewelry, Jack Rogers and wedges).  The latter I wear on repeat when the weather allows.  Also don't forget umbrellas and sunglasses depending on what the weather calls for.

Sunglasses (Ray-Ban or Similar)
Jean Jacket (Gap, J.Crew)

Traveling

It's time again for me to fly back to school.  There are always those super fashionable, put together girls at airports...then there's me (and my three coats, yoga pants, and Ugg boots).

I fly from California to Boston roughly 8 times a year (at least), and I've traveled 14+hours across oceans (to Europe and Asia).  I consider myself a fairly experienced traveler yet it is possibly one of my least favorite things to do because while the destination is amazing getting there is never fun.  Here are my travel essentials for long plane rides:

-Leggings
-A cozy sweater, quarter-zip, or tee
- a scarf
- A coat (in case it gets cold)
- fully charged phone and laptop/iPad
-headphones
- a good book or magazine
- water and snacks
- any medicine you may need (Advil, Tums, ect.)

5 Ways to Wear: Patterned Shorts

Whenever I buy bold clothing items I make sure that I can style them multiple ways so I can get the most out of them.  It was love at first sight for me and these Lilly Pulitzer First Impression Callahan shorts, and I was lucky enough to receive them as a "get well soon" present (post knee-surgery).  I immediately set off to create multiple ways of styling them!  I love how versatile bold patterns can be, they can easily be styled with both solids and print mixing.   Once the weather warms up I plan on wearing these shorts a lot.

How do you like to style Bold Pattern Clothing Items?

February Favorites

1. Bean Boots

aka the only shoes I've been wearing outside.  Thank you Boston Snow and my knee problems.

2. Chocolate

It's February, and to me February screams let me indulge in Chocolate.  Check out my post about a great chocolate company Chocomize here

3. Kendra Scott

Ok y'all I finally caved and bought my first pair of Kendra Scott Earrings.  And yes I'm in love.  And Yes I'm now obsessed with this company.

4. Warm weather dreaming

All I can think about right now is taking out my summer dresses, shorts, skirts and putting away all my cold weather clothing for good.  I know I'm not the only person who is officially ready for Spring.

Spring Break Essentials

I can't believe spring break is only a week away.  Of course I'm spending my Spring Break in the frozen tundra that is Boston, but for those luckier than I to be heading somewhere more exciting these are my essentials.  My two favorite trips are either Beach trips or service trips.  Both my high school and University offer service trip options for spring break, so I figured I would include these in my essentials.
My must haves for the beach: A bathing suit, coverup, towel, hat, sunscreen, and sandals.  Plus bring nicer clothing for wearing to dinner or out at night.  For beach wear I love having comfortable clothes.  While traditional coverups are always nice, I also love bringing shorts or a loose fitting shirt (like a spirit jersey or frat collection shirt).    Here are some great places to shop beach attire:

If you are spending spring break doing a little good in the world make sure to pack comfortable and weather appropriate clothes.   Look up the weather a week in advance, but always bring a rain coat just to be sure.  Make sure to bring loose-fitting, easy to work in clothing that you wouldn't mind getting a little dirty.
